No. 4 Farmers Insurance likewise punched its ticket to the Top 10 Hall of Fame next year. Top 5 newcomers Jiffy Lube International, Coldwell Banker Real Estate, and CHG Health Care Services nabbed Nos. 2, 3, and 5, respectively. This year, 25 newcomers cracked the Top 125 list.<\/p>\n<p><em>Training<\/em> magazine recognized the 2013 Training Top 125 winners with crystal awards and revealed their rankings during a black-tie gala held last night during the Training 2013 Conference &#038; Expo at the Walt Disney World Coronado Springs Resort. Themed \u201cAn Enchanted Evening,\u201d the gala \u00a0was sponsored by Advantexe, Allen Interactions, American Management Association, Dale Carnegie Digital, Franklin Covey, Game On Learning, getabstract, Godiva, GC Incentives, Herrmann International, Ken Blanchard, Knowledge Advisors, Omnikron, Orrefors \u2013 Kosta Boda, the Training Top 10 Hall of Fame, and Turning Technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Now in its 13th year, the Training Top 125 is the only report that ranks companies unsurpassed in harnessing human capital. Some applicant statistics of note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The mean revenue was $5.4 billion U.S. and $10.2 billion worldwide. The mean training budget was $31.5 million, representing 4.58 percent of payroll.<\/li>\n<li>The mean number of total employees trained per organization (including independent contractors and franchisees) was 55,771, with 18,498 trained in the classroom and 35,805 trained online. A mean of 540 courses were offered as instructor-led sessions; 1,738 were offered as online self-paced modules; and 156 were offered as virtual instructor-led classrooms. Some 98 percent of applicants have a technological infrastructure to support the delivery and management of training.<\/li>\n<li>The average number of full-time and part-time trainers was 241 and 582, respectively.<\/li>\n<li>Some 98 percent of applicants use employee satisfaction surveys, and 97 percent use competency maps and personal\/individual development plans. Only 66 percent tie managers\u2019 compensation directly to the development of their direct reports.<\/li>\n<li>On the evaluation side, 68 percent of applicants utilize Return on Value; 71 percent utilize Return on Investment; 56 percent utilize balanced scorecards; and 47 percent utilize Six Sigma. The Kirkpatrick Levels of Evaluation are more widely used: Level 1 (97 percent), Levels 2 and 3 (94 percent), and Level 4 (88 percent).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the gala,<em>Training<\/em> honored Ernst &#038; Young Chief Learning Officer Mike Hamilton, the first Training Top 10 Hall of Fame representative set to retire later this year. No companies qualified for induction into the Hall of Fame this year, but Verizon and Farmers Insurance will be inducted in 2014 after ranking in the Top 10 of the Training Top 125 companies for at least four <em>consecutive<\/em> years. Members remain in the Top 10 Hall of Fame for a minimum of three years.
