{"id":40995,"date":"2024-09-11T15:29:50","date_gmt":"2024-09-11T20:29:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trainingmag.com\/?p=40995"},"modified":"2024-09-11T15:29:58","modified_gmt":"2024-09-11T20:29:58","slug":"gen-z-leans-into-ai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trainingmag.com\/gen-z-leans-into-ai\/","title":{"rendered":"Gen Z Leans Into AI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Almost half (47%)\u00a0of Generation Zers are turning to artificial intelligence (AI) instead of their managers for guidance at work, according to recent TalentLMS research, which surveyed 1,000 Gen Z employees in the U.S. Key findings include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>39%<\/strong>\u00a0of Gen Zers say they interact less with colleagues because of AI.<\/li>\n<li><strong>62%<\/strong>\u00a0of Gen Z employees say AI has positively impacted their learning and development at work.<\/li>\n<li><strong>66%<\/strong>\u00a0say using artificial intelligence at work has positively impacted their skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But what about growth opportunities from various tasks that now are delegated to AI? TalentLMS asked if AI has stripped young professionals of growth opportunities. The sentiment was almost evenly split:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the positive side,\u00a0<strong>42%<\/strong>\u00a0of Gen Z employees say delegating tasks to AI hasn\u2019t been an obstacle to growth.<\/li>\n<li>On the flip side,\u00a0<strong>40%<\/strong>\u00a0say AI has hindered their growth by doing tasks from which they could have learned, spotlighting the double-edged sword of AI efficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The report concludes that the interplay between the up-and-coming generation and AI will redefine the workplace. Five critical gaps the survey data brought to light are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong>\u00a0Tech assistance vs. human mentorship<br \/>\n<strong>2.<\/strong>\u00a0Critical thinking vs. AI-driven insights<br \/>\n<strong>3.<\/strong>\u00a0Digital fluency vs. emotional intelligence<br \/>\n<strong>4.<\/strong>\u00a0Efficiency vs. learning and development opportunities<br
