{"id":11369,"date":"2019-08-06T16:26:30","date_gmt":"2019-08-06T21:26:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trainingmag.com\/training-magazines-innovations-in-training-event-heads-to-ireland\/"},"modified":"2020-12-17T14:42:40","modified_gmt":"2020-12-17T20:42:40","slug":"training-magazines-innovations-in-training-event-heads-to-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trainingmag.com\/training-magazines-innovations-in-training-event-heads-to-ireland\/","title":{"rendered":"Training magazine\u2019s Innovations in Training Event Heads to Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<em>Training\u00a0<\/em>magazine is bringing its popular Innovations in Training (IIT) event to Dublin, Ireland, from November 7 to 9, in conjunction with the World Conference on Online Learning that takes place from November 3 to 7 at the Dublin Convention Centre.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tInnovations in Training is a three-day Dublin field trip for Learning and Development professionals who want to experience innovative ways to push beyond traditional approaches to workplace learning and apply new ways to design and deploy more engaging training.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThis event is limited to 50 participants who will gain insider access to cross-disciplinary organizations that are changing the way people learn.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cWe will be asking big questions about the future of education at the ICDE World Conference on Online Learning, and are pleased to feature cutting-edge workplace learning examples during the post-conference Innovations in Training Dublin,\u201d says Professor Mark Brown, conference chair and director of the National Institute for Digital Learning at Dublin City University. \u201cThese events combine the best research, theory, and practice to help inspire trainers and educators to design better, more engaging and impactful experiential learning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIIT Dublin features visits to cutting-edge simulation labs, innovation centers, and training sites, along with in-depth Innovation Chats and immersive experiences that demonstrate innovative approaches to learning at work.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSite visits include IBM Research Ireland, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and Ernst &#038; Young Dublin.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tInnovators who will share their stories include:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tErnst &#038; Young Global Chief Learning Officer Brenda Sugrue<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tSkillnet Ireland Executive Director Tracey Donnery<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tSteve Boucher and Travis May, senior Learning leaders from Mastercard<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tSuzi Jarvis, director of the University College Dublin\u2019s Innovation Academy<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tDermot O\u2019Flynn, director of Professional Development at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tSeveral researchers from IBM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tAn Immersive Lab will bring learning innovations to life, giving participants an opportunity to try hands-on demos of emerging technologies, such as virtual reality, augmented reality, micro-simulations, and mobile learning.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI learned there are many ways to innovate and rediscovered my motivation,\u201d says Michelle Stallard, Training Center team leader at Rolls-Royce. \u201cIIT has really motivated me to go back and share what I\u2019ve learned with my team and encouraged me to take the initiative to improve our business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSponsors and partners include EmpowerTheUser, Scrimmage, VRAI, Dublin City University, Enterprise Ireland, and Skillnet Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDublin is an ideal place to \u201cgo on the road\u201d to see and touch and experience how the future of learning is already happening.
