Dollar General and the other Top 125 winners are shining examples of organizations that champion training and employee development tied to corporate strategic goals and business impact. Some 28 newcomers earned a spot on the list this year, the 19th in a row <em>Training<\/em> has ranked the top companies of employer-sponsored workforce training and development.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tEach Top 125 company was measured on quantitative (73 points) and qualitative (52 points) data. Factors influencing the rankings include:<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022\u00a0Training tied to business objectives<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Kirkpatrick Level 3 and 4 results<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Training\u2019s role in strategic decision-making<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Number of trainers<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Employee turnover and retention<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Leadership development<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Tuition assistance<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Training technology and infrastructure<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Certification<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Training budget and percentage of payroll<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Executive involvement in L&#038;D<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u2022 Training delivery methods and innovation.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnd much, much more. An outside research and statistical data company, under the guidance of Training magazine, scored companies on quantitative data supplied by applicants. Then, Training\u2019s editor-in-chief and the Training Top 10 Hall of Famers qualitatively reviewed the applications.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tTop 125 Best Practices and Outstanding Training Initiatives also are recognized in this issue.
